Your Why

Why: (noun) What keeps you grinding and showing up every single day.

Network marketing is such a powerful industry that not only are we changing the world of business as we know it, we're changing language! "Why" is no longer an interrogative, it's a noun!

Finding out what exactly your why is is an essential step in being taken seriously as a professional business lady because your ambition will be driven by your emotions. On the surface, your why may seem simple and obvious- you want financial freedom. Duh! But we need to go a little deeper than that. Your why needs to be powerful! Your why needs to be so strong that it brings up overwhelming emotions such as fear, sadness or envy.

Your sob story

Everyone has a sob story. It just takes a little time to figure out exactly what it is and how to word it in such a way that it empowers you to become a successful entrepreneur. So let's practice piecing it together.

First of all, take ten minutes to yourself, pour a glass of wine for some self care, put on some sad music, get yourself into the mood and write down five things that make you sad.

So let's go over what you have written down. Here are the correct answers immediately below.

So let's look at some underlying themes here. If you look closely, every single thing that makes the average woman sad is to do with hardship and lack of empowerment. Every single one of these things can be made into a powerful sob story- your why, your reason for choosing to be a grown-up professional network marketer.

Next, choose one of these things and develop it into the most emotional story of overcoming hardship in the world. To do this, it must contain the following elements:

  • It's a story that's generic and relatable enough to most people.
  • Someone doubting or discouraging you.
  • That network marketing empowered or is empowering you to overcome the problem.

As an example, let's take number 5.

In a lifetime of over eight decades on average, we have years to experience life's adventures and wonders. Many of us go to college, get married (sometimes twice!), have children and grandchildren. Many of us will move to new cities, even new countries. Many of us will travel the world to experience new cultures. Along the way we will make new friends, learn new skills and gain more wisdom. Many of us will have interesting careers and go along paths they never dreamed possible. Over eighty years on average in a lifetime, but the most important and the most significant are the four we spend in high school.

Many people can relate to peaking in high school and the trauma of not being popular enough in adult life. First element checked off the list!

However, despite that popularity, many girls, may still not make it into the cheer squad, which can be absolutely crushing, resulting in life-long damage to their ego and a thirst to get back at those who wronged their rightful place in the cool girls' club. This is often our first encounter with haters, people who doubt that we are worthy enough to be at the top of the social hierarchy. Second element checked!

Even though if it weren't for social media, you would have forgotten half of your high school peers years ago, these people are perhaps the most important people in your life. For many people in network marketing, these are the people we still yearn to impress. It is a second chance to try and achieve popularity, something that is obviously very important for wellbeing and happiness. Third element checked!

We have a why: To relive high school glory days through network marketing!

Other popular whys could also be: to spend all of your waking hours with your children, even right up into adulthood; being able to buy expensive material things to fill the void; to have literally no obligations or responsibilities ever again; or being the literal fucking Queen.

Discovering your why can be emotionally exhausting. It is normal for network marketers to cry hysterically when going through this process, especially after an extra glass of wine. It is important to remember that your why is an essential step in becoming successful in business because your why should be so powerful, that you will do anything for it, even going into thousands of dollars in debt and ruining relationships

Once you have discovered your why, you will be motivated to show up every single day and take your business to the next level. Your why should be so strong, that it will give you the strength and determination to keep showing up, even when you don't feel like it, even when you're beyond the point of exhaustion and even when you feel afraid of the fact that maybe you're heading for financial ruin. If your why doesn't help you overcome every obstacle, then you need a stronger why. Keep repeating the process until you find the exact reason for doing network marketing. It should be your purpose. What you were put on this earth for.
